Our answer

Low Cost & Low Tech, by design.

Energy4Water builds renewable-powered, decentralized water generators around a simple promise: technology that any community, school or cooperative can own, operate and repair without specialised infrastructure or imported parts.

This frugal-engineering approach aligns directly with OCP’s Water Sustainability Program and Morocco’s national goals of water security, sustainability and energy efficiency.

Watch The Global Water Crisis in Context

A short documentary on the scale of the challenge our research aims to address.

Water scarcity is addressed through a holistic approach that combines advanced materials, renewable energy, and data-driven optimization to deliver scalable and sustainable water solutions.

Sustainability

Cut diesel use and carbon footprint through renewable-powered systems.

Designs target minimal waste, recyclability, and low water loss.

Community

Deliver reliable, safe water access for households, farms, and cooperatives.

Training and local maintenance models to keep systems running.

Knowledge

Publish findings, open data when possible, and mentor students on real deployments.

Collaborations that accelerate research translation to field results.

Goals & Metrics

What we aim for in every deployment clear targets keep projects accountable.

Our Goals

  • Deliver reliable atmospheric water in arid and semi-arid climates.
  • Increase sorbent/material efficiency while lowering regeneration energy.
  • Keep systems off-grid-first using solar and hybrid power.
  • Center humanitarian outcomes: safe drinking water for vulnerable groups, equitable access, and dignity in crisis or remote settings.
  • Validate durability and uptime through field pilots.
  • Share learnings to accelerate local innovation and training.
